Description

Responsible for coordinating Distance Education resources, technology, training, and assisting with the technical support of faculty and students participating in online learning. Reports to the Director of Distance Education and Academic Outreach.

 
Examples

Assists with the delivery of group and individual training and instruction related to on-line teaching. Assists faculty with set up and preparation for on-line course delivery. Oversees faculty evaluation process and serves as liaison with learning management system provider. Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Physical Condition
Experience

A minimum of 3 years using course authoring tools, proficiency with various 3rd party software systems, and experience supporting faculty and students. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and an understanding of training pedagogy. Prefer familiarity with 3rd party software, learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, etc), knowledge of online classroom pedagogy, and course building.

 
Knowledge

Previous working experience in technical support, training, and/or instructional design for (3) years, Knowledgeable in the use of computers, learning management systems, commonly used office software programs, and strong customer service skills.

 
Education

Bachelor's degree in education, training, instructional technology, or a related field.

 
Additional Requirements

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. The ability to manage resources, teach, guide, and evaluate; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage a variety of tasks in a busy office atmosphere. Must have the ability to work well with college students, faculty, and staff. Must be willing to work occasional nights and weekends. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (mod) and requires a criminal background check.
