Welcome to MSU Employment

BEFORE or ON YOUR FIRST DAY of employment, students will be instructed to come to Human Resources, located in the Hardin Admin.,Bldg., Room 210 to complete the following employment form:

  • Form I-9 (Employment Eligibility Verification), complete Section I no later than the first day of employment and provide unexpired work documents required within three days of employment to Human Resources. **(If you will be paid for any training prior to your start date, the training date will be the official start date.)
  • Social Security Card - For Payroll purposes, employees must be able to present a copy of their original social security card even if you choose not to use this card to complete your I-9. If you do not have a social security card, please locate the nearest Social Security office. Employees will NOT be paid until the social security card has been presented to Human Resources.

  • New employees will set up tax information, Direct Deposit & Time Clock Plus Set Up

International Student Hires - Please email dso@msutexas.edu to inform a DSO in Global Education of your employment and request the on-campus work authorization be sent to Human Resources.

Legal Notices, Employment Forms, and MSU Mandatory Employee Training

Legal Notices for All New Employees,Background Authorization, and additional employment forms will be emailed to the student via SignNow. Email human.resources@msutexas.edu if you do not receive the online documents.  

As a reminder, ALL employees, regardless of rank, must complete the online employee training module, which includes topics on workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, ethics, child protection, and the Campus SaVE Act.

This training must be completed by all employees within 30 days of their start date and every two years thereafter.
