Description

Receives post-baccalaureate and graduate applications and application fees. Completes data entry into student information system. Sets up initial application files for processing prospective students and notifies them of their application status. Manages imaged and paper student files, adds transcripts and test scores as received. Transmits complete application files to graduate program coordinators for evaluation to determine admission status. Serves as point-of-contact and resource for prospective students. Assists with clerical and administrative work. Works closely with the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions. Reports to the Dean of the McAda Graduate School.

 
Examples

Sets up prospective student files. Collects collegiate transcripts, test scores, and other application materials for transmission to graduate program coordinators and notifies prospective students of missing credentials. Creates and updates database of students processed and evaluated for reporting to the Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions. Performs other duties as assigned.

 
Physical Condition
Experience

Experience in a college admissions office working in a team environment is desired. Experience and proficiency with personal computers and commonly used office software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Banner (student information system), and Radius (admissions management system) and other appropriate office equipment is preferred.

 
Knowledge

Requires considerable knowledge and use of excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be knowledgeable in the use of personal computers and commonly used office software programs. Must understand effective office procedures; ability to plan and manage multiple tasks; understand and follow complex, detailed instructions; and make decisions based on standard office procedures. General knowledge of admissions procedures and university policies is preferred.

 
Education

High school diploma required, Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.

 
Additional Requirements

Must possess strong public relations skills for interacting with public, faculty, staff, and students. Good understanding of admission policies as well as University policies and regulations. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
