The Project Specialist is a full time, twelve-month position in the Office of Residence Life & Housing. Reports to the Director of Residence Life & Housing and is responsible for assisting the Director with administrative, operational, and programmatic functions of the department. Will work closely with the Director and other professional staff to create an administratively efficient residential education program encompassing administrative policies and procedures, marketing, room assignments, and future program development.

The Project Specialist will assist the Director in the research, development, implementation and assessment of long term and short term department goals and initiatives. Position will assist the Associate Director with the development of living-learning programs (LLPs) and will manage the LLP recruitment process. The Specialist will use evaluation and assessment data to make recommendations for program improvement. Other duties include administrative oversight of the housing selection processes for new and returning students; development of social media content for prospective and current students; management of departmental recruitment materials and website updates, implementation of virtual programming initiatives; and planning and coordination for all move-in and move-out activities. Perform other duties as assigned.

Two years of program planning or project management experience required. Experience working in a college environment or with young adults is desired. Demonstrated experience working with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds is required.
- Knowledge

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat for the production of educational programming materials. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required. Demonstrated high level of organizational skills. Knowledge of student development, leadership, and/or learning theory and demonstrated ability to use learning theory to guide practice is desired. Experience with assessment preferred. Knowledge of Banner, Campus Labs, and Cascade platforms preferred.

Bachelor’s degree required with a preference given for degrees in Education, Marketing, Business Management or closely related fields.

Demonstrated analytical, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability and willingness to work in a fast paced, student-centered environment with an attention to detail. Must be able to work independently and within a team with the ability to see projects to completion. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. *Designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
