Description

The Data Analyst supports the Office of Institutional Effectiveness by assisting with data management, compliance reporting, and administrative coordination for the university’s assessment and planning functions. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, this position focuses on data analysis, report preparation, and process support for institutional assessment cycles and compliance requirements. This role blends data analytics with process coordination, ensuring that the university’s assessment processes, reporting obligations, and data requests are completed efficiently and accurately.

 
Examples

Supports the administration of the university’s annual assessment process, including collecting and tracking submissions, providing feedback templates, and assisting with assessment documentation. Assists in the preparation and validation of federal, state, and internal reports (IPEDS, CBM, THECB Accountability, etc.).Responds to institutional data requests through the office’s data request portal. Develops and maintains reports and dashboards using Power BI and other analytics tools. Assists with accreditation support and documentation for SACSCOC and specialized program accreditations. Works with IT and other offices to ensure timely and accurate data integration into the IE data warehouse. Provides analytical and administrative support to the Director in planning, assessment, and institutional reporting initiatives.

 
Physical Condition
Experience

Two or more years of experience in data analysis, assessment coordination, or related work. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SQL required. Familiarity with assessment management systems or processes preferred.

 
Knowledge

Understanding of basic statistical concepts and qualitative/quantitative assessment. Familiarity with higher education metrics, reporting cycles, and accreditation requirements. Knowledge of institutional research functions and data governance principles preferred.

 
Education

Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, higher education, or related discipline required.

 
Additional Requirements

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
