- Responsibilities
- Duties include a twelve-hour teaching load each semester serving as primary instructor of acting and movement techniques in a growing undergraduate theatre department. Teach courses with specific content in the areas of acting, movement for the stage, musical theatre, dialects, and dance. Direct/choreograph one or two productions a year. Additional responsibilities include student assessment; hold office hours, mentor theatre students and student directors, assist with advanced student work and mentoring the chapter of Alpha Psi Omega. Other duties commensurate with experience and/or departmental needs will include engaging in department, college, and university service. This includes recruiting, establishing strong working relationships with colleagues, and representing the Theatre Department on and off campus. Ability to teach a theatre education methods class preferred.
- Requirements
- Terminal degree in acting or related field required. Applicants experienced in theatre education, directing, or theatre history are particularly encouraged to apply.
