- Description
The Library Assessment and Operations Coordinator leads the design, implementation, and analysis of assessment activities across the library. This position is responsible for developing and managing data collection strategies that inform planning, improve services, demonstrate value, and support institutional goals. The Assessment and Operations Coordinator collaborates with library departments to promote a culture of assessment and evidence-based decision-making. In addition to assessment, the position provides secondary support for operational tasks such as scheduling, work order coordination, and administrative assistance to library leadership.
- Examples
Develop and implement assessment plans and tools to evaluate library services, resources, spaces, instruction, and user satisfaction. Analyze and report quantitative and qualitative data to inform planning, demonstrate impact, and support accreditation and institutional reporting (e.g., ACRL, IPEDS, SACSCOC). Prepare and present regular reports to library leadership. Design and distribute surveys to evaluate library services, user satisfaction, and resource effectiveness. Identify and communicate trends in library usage, staffing, and user needs. Develop dashboards, infographics, or visualizations to communicate data clearly to varied audiences. Maintain documentation of assessment procedures, data sources, and timelines. Support accreditation and strategic planning initiatives by providing library-related data and analysis. Ensure data privacy, ethical use, and compliance with university policies. Coordinate library instruction and atrium space scheduling. Submit and follow up on facilities-related work orders and maintenance needs. Support supply tracking, invoice processing, and simple budget documentation. Provide administrative assistance to the University Librarian and department heads, including document preparation, meeting logistics, and communication support. Contribute to special projects and cross-departmental coordination as needed
- Physical Condition
- Experience
Experience with library data reporting tools (e.g., Alma Analytics, Springshare, or COUNTER usage reports). Experience designing surveys and conducting focus groups or interviews. Project management experience or training. Experience with assessment, program evaluation, or research
- Knowledge
Familiarity with higher education accreditation processes and academic library standards. Strong analytical skills and experience working with qualitative and quantitative data. Proficiency in tools such as Excel.
- Education
Bachelor’s Degree required.
