Title
Administrative and Certification/Accreditation Specialist
Description

Performs advanced clerical work, data management system support, evidence collection and verification for certification and accreditation. Assisting the director of Accreditation & Assessment and the Certification managers with admissions to the educator preparation program. Reports to the Director of Accreditation and Assessment and Manager of Educator Preparation.

Examples

Maintains clerical records, and verifies accuracy and compliance of evidence. Prepares correspondence, reports, payrolls, travel vouchers, and purchase requisitions. Assists in compiling and entering data for maintenance of candidates in the educator preparation program. Assists students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors with ad hoc needs. Answers multiple telephone lines, takes messages, files documents, makes copies, maintains office equipment, and orders supplies. Assists department heads in processing graduate admission reviews and accompanying documentation, preparation of schedule of classes, and scholarship disbursement. May supervise a small number of student assistants in routine office operations. Supports department heads in certification and accreditation related evidence collection and verification. Manages and supports certification related orientations. Supports students and faculty with data management (e.g. TK20) related inquiries. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Condition

Sufficient dexterity, agility, and physical condition to perform routine office tasks. Must be able to drive independently and lift a minimum of 20 pounds

Experience

Experience in scheduling meetings, timekeeping, preparation of documents, and student support. One or more years’ experience in a college or university environment desired.

Knowledge

Requires knowledge and skill in the use of various office equipment and personal computer software programs, including but not limited, to Word, Excel, and Outlook. Considerable knowledge of accepted office procedures, principles and practices. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Requires working knowledge of academic program requirements and applicable admission procedures.

Education

Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Requires strong organization and detail oriented skills. Requires excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. Must be well organized, demonstrate initiative, be able to work independently with little supervision and to solve complex problems. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relations with university staff, faculty, students, and outside contacts and be a positive representative for Midwestern State University
