Title
Manager, Adult Education and Degree Completion
Description

The Manager is responsible for the administration of the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences program as well as other degree completion programs including recruitment, academic advising, budget, and personnel. The manager is responsible for coordination and collaboration with colleges across the main campus and Flower Mound to ensure course offerings are present for BAAS students. The manager is responsible for BAAS curriculum design and will teach one course each fall and spring semester. Works directly and coordinates with colleges and deans across the university. Reports to the Dean of the  Gordon T. & Ellen West College of Education.

Examples

Connects students to degree completion options both within the West College of Education and across campus colleges. Supervises a small staff; manages the day-to-day operations of the office; maintains the program's budget; directs recruiting efforts; evaluates non-traditional experiences for academic credit; works with the BAAS Advisory Committee; and supervises students participating in the BAAS Internship program. Performs other relevant duties as assigned.

Physical Condition
Experience

College teaching experience as well as experience in academic advising and curriculum development. Work related experience in evaluation practices and procedures. Strong communication skills for the purpose of cultivating partnerships.

Knowledge

Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn the curriculum of the program; knowledge of general management, budgeting, and program planning principles; proficiency in the use of relevant computer programs.

Education

Master's degree required.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Must be a student-oriented individual with strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills; be able to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies, both on and off campus; and be able to keep detailed and accurate records. *Regular reliable attendance is required. Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. *Designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
