Title
Director, BAAS Program
Description

The Director is responsible for the administration of the BAAS program including curriculum design and academic advising, budget, and personnel. In addition to administrative duties, the director will teach two courses in each fall and spring semester. Reports to the Chair of the Department of Graduate and Adult Education in the Gordon T. & Ellen West College of Education.

Examples

Supervises a small staff and supervises the day-to-day operations of the BAAS office; manages the program's budget; directs recruiting efforts; advises potential, new, and continuing students; evaluates non-traditional experiences for academic credit; works with the BAAS Advisory Committee; and supervises students participating in the BAAS Internship program.

Physical Condition
Experience

Significant college teaching experience as well as experience in academic advising and curriculum development. Some management experience desirable.

Knowledge

Knowledge of or ability quickly to learn the curriculum of the BAAS program; work-related experience in evaluation practices and procedures; proficiency in the use of relevant computer programs.

Education

Master's degree required, terminal degree preferred.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Must be a student-oriented individual with strong organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills; be able to communicate effectively with a variety of constituencies, both on and off campus; and be able to keep detailed and accurate records. *Regular reliable attendance is required. Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. *Designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
