The Fain College of Fine Arts at Midwestern State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Theatre – Voice, to begin August of 2025. This is a tenure-track position. Midwestern State University is an associate member of NAST and a full member of COPLAC and offers a full undergraduate curriculum in theatre programs.
Duties include a twelve-hour teaching load each semester serving as instructor of voice techniques, serving as director/musical director/vocal coach/intimacy coach or mentor for one to two shows per year, and conducting other classes or duties commensurate with experience and/or departmental needs. Assess students, hold office hours, mentor students in musical performance and engage in department, college, and university service. This includes recruiting, establishing strong working relationships with colleagues, and representing the Theatre Department on and off campus.
- Requirements
- Terminal degree in theatre, performance studies or a related field required. Experience and/or certifications in singing, voice training and accent dialect teaching preferred. Applicants experienced in theatre education, directing, or teaching acting and theatre history are particularly encouraged to apply. Functional piano skills to accompany preferred.
