Title
Director, Alumni Relations
Description

Responsible the Vice President for University Advancement for development, administration and coordination of alumni activities. Acts as a liaison between the University and the Midwestern State University Alumni Association. Responsible for communication and public relations with former students. Serves as Co-advisor for Student Ambassadors.

Examples
Primary duties include maintenance of alumni records, Alumni Association records, and budgets. Required to coordinate Association meetings and write reports and financial statements and enlists and conducts orientation for new council members. Responsible for planning and coordinating alumni events, i.e., Homecoming; chapter events; preparing and conducting membership drive for the Association; and contributing alumni information for the bi-annual publication, Sunwatcher. Coordinates annual award projects, i.e., distinguished alumni awards, student honors program award, and spirit award. Responsible for interviewing, selection, training and coordination of Student Ambassadors and their activities.
Physical Condition

Typical work environment is an office, working at a desk for long periods of time. Regular computer keyboard, mouse and monitor use.  

Experience
Three to five years experience working with alumni programs on the university level and well as experience in planning and managing special events. Writing, layout and design experience preferred.
Knowledge
Must be knowledgeable in the use of personal computers as well as commonly used office software programs,such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. A knowledge of Raiser's Edge preferred. Knowledge of Midwestern State University and the Wichita Falls community helpful.
Education
Bachelor's degree required.
Additional Requirements

Must have good public relation and communication skills. Must be organized and able to work with specific time frames and deadlines. Should be a self-motivator and be creative. Must be able to supervise student and secretarial workers. Must have the ability to write for alumni communications and publication as well as the ability to plan and organize meetings and special events. Public relation skills in meeting and dealing with a variety of constituents necessary also required.

Requires the ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community.
