The Department of English, Humanities, and Philosophy at Midwestern State University seeks applicants for an Assistant or Associate Professor in the area of technical and professional communications. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience and a research emphasis in workplace communication practices, technologies, and pedagogy, which includes writing for culturally and geographically diverse audiences and teams.

We are looking for candidates who will teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses in workplace writing (e.g., technical, professional, business, and healthcare communication). This is a 9-month, tenure-track position with a standard load of 4/4 with optional summer teaching. Both onsite and online teaching are expected. In addition to teaching duties, the successful candidate will engage in scholarly activities and service to the department, college, and university.

A Ph.D. in Technical or Professional Communication or related field in writing studies, experience teaching technical, professional, and/or business communication, and a research emphasis in workplace communications. We desire candidates who have demonstrated success in the writing classroom and are able to teach writing-intensive courses that complement or strengthen our undergraduate and online graduate programs.
