Responsibilities
Teach courses in the areas of acting, voice for the stage, movement for the stage, musical theatre, and other theatre classes as needed. Direct one or two productions a year, collaborate with other departments in artistic and academic projects, and perform other duties commensurate with education and experience. Additional duties may include assisting with advanced student work, mentoring the chapter of Alpha Psi Omega, assessing students, holding office hours, and engaging in department, college, and university service. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting, establishing strong working relationships with colleagues and area school directors, and representing the theatre department on and off campus. Ability to teach a theatre methods class for theatre education majors is a plus.
Qualifications
Terminal degree in acting or related field required. Preferred qualifications include a record of successful artistic/professional achievements and prior experience in higher education. The ideal candidate should be a versatile professional, capable of navigating all areas of theatre from the classics to musical theatre.
