The Transfer Coordinator serves as a resource to transfer students, prepares transfer related reports to be submitted to various agencies, including the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and monitors the transferability of courses to MSU. This position is responsible for maintaining and updating transfer equivalencies in MSU’s SIS, and monitoring the effectiveness of student facing tools that assist in the transfer process. This position serves as MSU’s Transfer Liaison, which is a dedicated point of contact assisting transfer students with core curriculum and transferability of courses.The Transfer Coordinator works cross-functionally with Admissions, Academic Advising, and Financial Aid to ensure a smooth, well-supported student experience.
- Examples

Evaluate catalogs from other colleges and universities; collaborate with academic departments to resolve resulting course equivalency questions. Serve as the primary point of contact for transfer students, guiding them through credit transfer and field of study curricula. Advise students on how articulation agreements apply to their individual academic plans. Assist with development of Mustangs Transfer Guide (transfer guide pathways). Connect students with academic advising, financial aid, and student support services. Monitor transfer student retention and satisfaction, addressing concerns as they arise. Maintain accurate records in the CRM and student information system (Banner). Track transfer applicant, admit, and enrollment metrics by partner institution. Prepare state reports on transfer students as well as regular reports on partnership performance, and transfer pipeline health. Provide data-informed recommendations to leadership on which partnerships to grow, renegotiate, new partnership opportunities, etc. Oversee the transfer dispute process.

- Experience
-
2–4 years of experience in college registrar office, admissions office, or a student services role.
- Knowledge
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students from all academic and personal backgrounds.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with student information systems.

Bachelor degree required, Master’s preferred.

This role requires occasional evening and weekend work for partnership meetings and orientation programming.
