Midwestern State University (MSU Texas) invites nominations and expressions of interest for the Dean of the Dillard College of Business Administration position. The starting date is negotiable.
MSU Texas, with 5,324 students, is located in Wichita Falls (population 102,988), midway between Dallas and Oklahoma City.
The Dillard College of Business Administration (DCOBA) is one of six academic colleges and serves approximately 672 undergraduate and 263 graduate students. The College has been accredited by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) since 2010. The Dillard College of Business Administration , located in a modern 88,000-square foot facility that opened in August 2006, offers the Bachelor of Business Administration degree with majors in Accounting, Economics, Finance, General Business, Management, Business Analytics and Information Systems, and Marketing. In addition, students may earn a Master of Business Administration degree with an option to pursue the MBA in Business Analytics (a STEM pathway) or concentrations in either Accounting and Energy Management.
The Dillard College of Business Administration seeks a candidate with evidence of successful teaching, leadership, and oversight of business education programs. In addition, a candidate should be able to show previous efficacy in working openly and effectively with faculty and staff in a collaborative manner as well as a thorough understanding of, and experience with, the processes and requirements of AACSB, while maintaining the highest standards of honesty and integrity.
The successful candidate will lead a faculty and staff of 40 members. The Dean’s duties will include working with the chairs and faculty of the departments of Accounting/Management Information Systems/Legal Studies; Economics/Finance/General Business; and Management/Marketing. The Dean will work with Academic Affairs to accomplish the campus goals to educate, support, and serve and help the College participate in a campus-wide strategic plan to start in August 2025. The Dean will collaborate across the university to aid institutional efforts to educate and engage students by utilizing high-quality programs and practices that begin with recruitment and follow through to career placement. The Dean will also support scholarly and creative works, professional development, and leadership training in the College.

Earned doctorate (PhD or DBA) in a business discipline, an established record of effective teaching and current scholarly activity that warrants appointment as a tenured associate or full Professor in the College; Academic, administrative, and fiscal management experience; Experience in successful enrollment and retention initiatives and accreditation efforts; Knowledge of current trends and issues in higher education and business fields; Strong leadership, student advocacy, and communication skills; and a demonstrated ability to work with the business community and with other colleges within a university environment.
