Responsibilities

The Dillard College of Business Administration (AACSB accredited) at Midwestern State University (MSU Texas) invites applications for the position of Chair, Management and Marketing Department beginning Fall 2024. The department’s 10 full-time faculty members teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. Duties of the chair include overseeing and developing faculty, curriculum development and scheduling, and resolving student issues. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position normally filled by an associate or “full” professor. The successful candidate will teach at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, with possible summer teaching.  Face-to-face and online teaching are both expected. In addition to the administrative and teaching duties, the successful candidate will engage in scholarly activities leading to the maintenance of faculty qualifications in accordance with the Dillard College of Business Administration’s faculty qualifications policy. Salary is competitive.

Requirements

A terminal degree in Management or related discipline, preferably from an AACSB-accredited university. • Track record of excellence (or evidence of potential) in teaching (including online) various management subjects such as Organizational Behavior, Entrepreneurship, Business Policy, and Supervisory Skills. • Demonstrated research and other intellectual contributions (or evidence of potential) consistent with the Dillard College of Business Administration’s faculty qualifications policy.

Standard Requirements

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Personal cell phone usage may be required to complete position duties, including multi-function authentication requirements. Regular reliable attendance is required.

This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check. Position is designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. May serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
