Title
Coordinator, Mustang Learning Partners Tutoring
Description

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the embedded tutoring program in the Tutoring and Academic Support Programs Office. Collaborates with student tutors and faculty for recruitment, training, scheduling, and evaluation of the program. The coordinator will work closely with academic departments and faculty partners to align in-class peer support with course goals, assess the program effectiveness, and promote student success. Performs administrative work and assists with the department’s daily activities.

Examples

Collaborate with campus partners to coordinate, oversee, and train program participants. Collect and analyze data pertaining to the embedded tutoring program. Perform office administrative duties such as responding to correspondence and calls. Partner with academic departments to identify high-risk courses to strategically place tutors. Design and conduct pre-semester and ongoing training sessions for tutors on inclusive teaching, active learning, subject-specific pedagogy, and metacognitive study strategies. Ensure tutoring practices meet institutional standards and relevant professional guidelines. Meet with participating faculty regularly to set expectations, address concerns, and evaluate tutor integration. Act as the primary administrative point of contact for faculty regarding any issues, policy clarifications, or performance adjustments related to their assigned embedded tutor. Report to the Senior Associate Director of TASP.

Physical Condition

Sufficient dexterity, agility, and physical condition to perform routine office tasks. Light lifting will be required (moving office equipment and supplies, setting up tables and catering for meetings, etc.)

Experience

Prior experience in student support services, peer tutoring, teaching, or supervising staff within a college or university setting

Knowledge

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build rapport with students. Must be proficient in the use of computers and commonly used office software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Publisher and Outlook.

Education

Bachelor's degree required. Masters preferred.
