- Assistant Director, Admissions Processing and Operations
- Description
Receives post-baccalaureate and graduate applications and application fees. Completes data entry into student information system and notifies students of their application status. Manages imaged and paper student documents, adds transcripts and test scores as received. Transmits complete application files to graduate program coordinators for evaluation to determine admission status. Uploads admission decision letters to the Graduate Dean for approval. Communicates the admission decision to the graduate applicant. Assists with clerical and administrative work involving accurate and skillful preparation, examination and evaluation of applications for domestic and international graduate students. Is knowledgeable with all phases of application and transcript processing and can work independently in any phase to maintain procedural efficiency. Assists with the uploading of applications and transcripts. Assists with the communication plan in the CRM. Assists with supervision and training of the Processing personnel. Maintains thorough and specialized knowledge of Midwestern State University's policies and programs. Assists with the adaptation and implementation of technology. Reports to the Director of Processing and Operations.
- Examples
Aids the director in staff management. Sets up applicant student files. Collects collegiate transcripts, test scores, and other application materials for transmission to graduate program coordinators and notifies prospective students of missing credentials. Updates database of students processed and evaluated for reporting to the Director of Processing and Operations. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Physical Condition
- Experience
Minimum of three years progressive experience and training in a college environment, preferably in college admissions. Background in technology strongly preferred. Experience in working with databases, web configuration, demographics, and admissions counseling.
- Knowledge
Thorough understanding of admission policies, university policies, regulations, and degree requirements. Must be knowledgeable in the use of computers and commonly used office software programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Background in Banner software, preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills, required.
- Education
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree or some graduate work, preferred.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Strong understanding of admission policies as well as University policies and regulations. Experience in a college admissions office working in a team environment is desired. Experience and proficiency with personal computers and commonly used office software such as Word, Excel, Outlook, Banner (student information system), and Radius (admissions management system) and other appropriate office equipment is preferred. Personal cell phone usage may be required to complete position duties, including multi-function authentication requirements. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
