Project Manager, Mustangs HRSA Grant
Description

The Project Manager manages all the day to day academic and clinical aspects of the Medically Underserved Specialization for Advanced Nursing Graduate Students (MUSTANGS) project. (This is a grant funded position lasting four years).

Examples

Collaborates with the project director and project coordinator in assuring the effectiveness of day-to-day operations of academic and practice partner aspects of the MUSTANGS project. Supports Family Nurse Practitioner students, clinical preceptors, faculty, and academic practice partners in planning and facilitating learning experiences to meet the objectives of the MUSTANGS project. Provides on-site support at partner agencies. Maintains MUSTANGS project student and preceptor schedules. Assures that project students fulfill all academic and clinical requirements of the project including the series of evidence-based projects focusing on clinical issues that affect rural and underserved populations. Maintains records.

Physical Condition
Experience

One year of experience as a licensed register nurse and certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).

Knowledge

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license or eligibility for Texas licensure as an APRN with Family Nurse Practitioner specialization. National certification in area of expertise.

Education

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Master of Science in Nursing required.

Additional Requirements

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Strong clinical skills required. Must be able to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment, and take initiative with little supervision. Attention to detail required. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
