Liaison, Alumni Engagement

The Alumni Engagement Liaison will broaden and deepen alumni and constituent engagement by developing more purposeful, meaningful, impactful, and mutually beneficial relationships. This position plays a critical role in creating a cohesive outreach effort to develop and sustain commitment and engagement among the University's alumni. Reports to the Vice President for University Advancement and Public Affairs.


Responsible for collaborating and building relationships with Alumni Association and Advancement colleagues. Identifies and cultivates potential donation and/or engagement opportunities with alumni and constituents. Coordinates annual award projects, i.e., distinguished alumni awards, student honors program award, and spirit award. Maintains Alumni Association records and budgets. Develops and maintains reports to provide analysis and assessment of program trends and short and long range results. Illustrates metrics such as face to face visits, new memberships, increases in volunteers and volunteer opportunities, and increases in identified leadership annual giving and major gifts prospects. Manages events and programs including alumni networking, reunions, local and regional receptions and other special events. Coordinates, identifies, and trains volunteers to support the Alumni Association and University Advancement initiatives. Works closely with the Vice President for University Advancement and Public Affairs to further enhance division goals. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Condition

Three or more years professional experience with alumni relations, social media, volunteer management, fundraising, donor relations, and public relations.


Working knowledge of the campus, its vision, mission, goals, objectives, achievements and infrastructure and/or the ability to quickly learn these important factors. Public relations skills in meeting and dealing with a variety of constituents required. Must be proficient in the use of personal computers as well as commonly used office software programs, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. A knowledge of Raiser's Edge is preferred. Familiarity with Midwestern State University, the Wichita Falls community, and past experience in Higher Education desirable.


Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Must have excellent public relations and communication skills. Ability to work independently and make decisions within the framework of goals and objectives. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Relevant change management experience. Must be able to supervise clerical staff and/or student employees. Ability to travel and work nights and weekends as needed. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (mod) and requires a criminal background check.
