Deepen your musicianship skills and design a Kodály-inspired curriculum that celebrates the uniqueness of your students and your specific teaching situation. The Kodály concept of teaching is a comprehensive approach to music education to develop a complete musician. For more information, please visit our Kodály page.
"A carefully planned sequence, well taught, will result in successful experiences for children and teacher. Success breeds success – and fosters a love of music. A Kodály-sequenced curriculum is an experience-based approach to learning, rather than a cognitive developmental approach."

Early Music Program
The Department of Music is in the initial stages of implementing an early music component into the music curriculum, beginning with the woodwind studio.
Thanks to the generous support of The John L. Robinson Educational Fund at the North Texas Community Foundation, the department has been awarded a grant to acquire multiple baroque instruments, and support for faculty professional development of Dr. Amy Thiemann in early music performance.
