MSU-Texas is reaffirmed every ten years by the Southern Association of Colleges and School Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the regional body for accrediting institutions of higher education in the southern United States. The reaffirmation process requires MSU to demonstrate compliance with SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation.

MSU's next reaffirmation of accreditation will take place in 2022-2023. As part of the reaffirmation process, MSU will submit 1) a Compliance Certification demonstrating compliance with requirements, standards, and federal regulations and 2) a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) that addresses a focused topic or issue related to enhancing student learning.
