In the Fluid Mechanics Laboratory, students are trained on fluid mechanics for the MENG 3104 Fluid Mechanics course. The lab reinforces information learned in lectures and provides students a hands-on experience with a variety of tests used in fluid mechanics. This lab include: viscosity Measurement, Hydrostatic Thrust on a Plane Surface, Calibration of a Bourdon Pressure Gauge, Flow through a Venturi Meter, Impact of a Jet, Flow through an Orifice, Forced Vortex, Frictional losses in pipes and fittings, pipe flow velocity profiles, pressure distribution, differential pressure, and flow measurement devices and techniques.
