Community Resources
- Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) Program is a federally funded supplemental nutrition program for pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding mothers and families with children younger than 5. Apply for WIC on the website for access to breastfeeding counseling, free online classes, healthy foods and recipes, breastfeeding supplies, etc.
- Parent Talk Line is a free 24/7 service. Are you a parent of small children, teen mom, pregnant, new mom, single parent of small children, parent of small children with disabilities, single father of small children, etc.? Call 1-844-Kids211 to ask questions about your children, seek resources for your children, or to speak to the Care Coordinator, Larissa Honore, for multiple resources.
- Texas Home Visiting program matches parents with trained and experienced home visitors, whose sole responsibility is to provide education and support to the families they serve. The three programs currently being offered in Wichita County are: Nurse Family Partnership (NFP), Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY), and Parents as Teachers (PAT).
- Starry nurtures children, strengthens families, and restores hope through counseling, family support, fatherhood, and family preservation.
- Help Me Grow North Texas promotes child development by working to successfully link families to community resources that meet their needs. This happens through cross-system collaboration of existing community resources that meet all family’s needs.
- Parents as Teachers (PAT) international early childhood parent education and family support program serving families throughout pregnancy until their child enters kindergarten at age 5.
