January 17 2026:
MSU IT needs to make critical updates to the Banner server infrastructure. Between 7:00AM and 11:00AM Internet Native Banner and Self-Service Banner will be unavailable . All systems are expected to be fully functioning by 11:00AM.
Recent Maintenance
January 6 2026:
At 6:08 PM MSU Texas' ISP experienced an area-wide outage. The ISP restored the service at 12:43 AM January 7th, 2026.
Planned Maintenance:
Planned maintenance windows are separated into planned banner maintenance and planned network maintenance.Planned banner maintenance windows are usually reserved for the first Saturday of the month from 12:00AM to 11:59PM to carry out system maintenance, rescheduling some Saturdays to avoid end of semester deadlines where possible. These can sometimes be skipped if not needed, expanded if necessary, or reduced. Banner will still be functional during these planned maintenance windows, but may be intermittently less responsive for the duration. In addition, there will sometimes be necessary special planned shutdowns to carry out upgrades or alterations to the systems. All effort will be made to schedule planned shutdowns during the first Saturday of the month.
Planned network maintenance windows are usually reserved for the first and third Saturdays of the month from 11:00PM to 7:00AM Sunday morning. During these eight how windows, some network and telecom functions may intermittently be down for small areas of campus. In addition, there will sometimes be necessary special planned shutdowns to carry out upgrades or replacing hardware. All effort will be made to schedule planned shutdowns during the first and third Saturday of the month.
