Description

Actively recruits, advises, and assists retaining completion program students for the Respiratory RRT-BSRC and Radiologic Science BSRS programs. Includes travelling to conferences, community colleges, secondary educational institutions, and clinical healthcare settings for recruitment and corporate agreements. Will be the point of contact for students with questions relating to enrollment, RRT-BSRC/BSRS programs, MSU, and degree plans. Assists program chairs with prospective student inquires. Communicates with academic advisors and students on additional requirements and documents. Assists students with applying to MSU and programs. Performs tracking for dual enrollment and traditional post-certification students. Assists with recruitment initiatives for students from community colleges, secondary education institutions, and corporate partners. Assists students with consortium agreements for financial aid. Reports to the Dean of the Robert D. and Carol Gunn College of Health Sciences and Human Services. Strong collaboration with Director of the Flower Mound Student Learning Center.

 
Examples

Performs recruitment activities at area community colleges and local healthcare settings. Answers inbound internet, email, or phone inquiries. Assists potential students applying to Midwestern State University, including monitoring individual student application progress. Answers questions relating to classes from transfer institutions. Assists current students with continued enrollment requirements; introductions to an academic program counselor; connects students with Disability Support Services, Counseling Center, Student Rights and Responsibilities, and the Business Office; and any function that supports student success. Helps students with general financial aid such as due dates, FAFSA, grants, and scholarships. Handles confidential/restricted student records. Prepares complex materials including student enrollment reports, analyses, recommendations for future programs, and procedures for best practices. Works with student and program chair/other administration on ensuring perquisites are satisfied before application to MSU and the program. Reconciles weekly reports that differentiate between post-certification and dually enrolled students; additionally, works with Registrar on changing attributes within native system. Ensures students have completed ApplyTexas and program application. Upon admittance to program, will send and guide students on how to register for classes, how to complete online orientation, and assist student with financial aid consortium document (dual enrollment only). Assists program chairs with professional accreditation compliance. Facilitates positive external relationships with stakeholders. Represents programs at professional conferences. Assist chairs’ with advertising, including website and published material. Promotes the radiologic sciences and respiratory therapy professions. Other duties as assigned

 
Physical Condition

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and bend and stoop while filing.

Experience

Minimum of one-year experience in higher education; specifically, in student services, academic advising, recruitment, or financial aid.

 
Knowledge

Must demonstrate an understanding of college readiness and adult learners and have the ability to learn the University's core curriculum, academic programs, and the MSU Student Data System.

 
Education

Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

Must communicate effectively and professionally. Attention to detail and professionalism in speech, appearance, and actions.  Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees, faculty, students, and the public. Ability to work independently and complete work in a timely and proficient manner. Ability to assign, supervise, and review the work of clerical staff. *Regular reliable attendance is required. * Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.* Must be available some nights and weekends. Must periodically serve on a standby or on-call basis. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
