Description
Provides secretarial and administrative support to the Provost/Vice President Academic Affairs that involves performing a variety of complex technical, clerical and administrative duties. Performs a variety of administrative activities, to include planning, organization, and execution. Relieves the Provost/Vice President of routine administrative details. Works under general supervision of the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs with latitude for initiative and independent judgment.
Examples
Handles routine and confidential correspondence. Maintains files, fiscal records, and restricted information. Performs specialized tasks requiring high level of skill in typing, computer operation, and preparing reports. Reviews, screens, and evaluates incoming correspondence, visitors, and phone calls to identify for priority handling. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Condition
Experience
Progressively responsible experience in general office practices and procedures, including some administrative work and personnel supervision. PC experience - specifically Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel necessary.
Knowledge
Excellent working knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation. Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment. Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education
College degree preferred; high school graduation supplemented with college courses is acceptable.
