Serves as a key member of a team responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive career management program for students and alumni at Midwestern State University. Serves as key member of the universities efforts to monitor, track, and ensure groups containing minors visiting campus are aware of and in compliance with minors on campus regulations. Reports to the Assistant Director of the Career Management Center.
Plans, coordinates, and implements development activities for students and alumni in the areas of resume and cover letter writing, interviewing, networking, professional etiquette, graduate school admittance, and job search strategies. Develops marketing and promotional material for all student and alumni related Career Management Center (CMC) services. Provides strategic direction to expand and enhance CMC services to students and alumni. Prepares students and alumni to effectively market themselves to prospective employers. Collaborates with campus departments and organizations to support Student Affairs initiatives. Educates event sponsors and employees regarding minors on campus policies and regulations. Creates procedures to ensure groups are in compliance with all policies and regulations prior to working with minors on campus. Maintains a minors on campus database to assist in monitoring and tracking minors on campus, programs, and events. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Condition
Experience in career services desired. Requires strong public speaking skills and experience in presentation development.
Knowledgeable in a variety of computer software programs and the application of current technology in career management services. Requires knowledge of resume, cover letter, interviewing, networking, professional etiquette, and job search principles.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Requires excellent interpersonal and oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with constituencies. Must be able to set priorities and goals and objectives. Must be able to take initiative and work independently. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *Some travel, evening and weekend work required. *Designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
