Skilled electrical work involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and appliances. Work is performed under general supervision of the Electrical Foreman. Employee supervises work of Electrician I in absence of Foreman. Work requires climbing, heavy lifting, and crawling through tunnels and attics. Danger from high voltage and exposure in inclement weather are environmental factors. Position is distinguished from Electrician I by the requirement of a State of Texas Electrician's License.

Installs, maintains, and repairs all electrical service lines and equipment. Performs preventative maintenance, repairs and replaces transformers, motors, automatic switches, circuit breakers, buzzers, clocks, and bells. Secures necessary supplies and materials. Maintains record of materials and labor expended on each job. Uses voltmeters, ampmeters, and other test equipment, as well as electric drills and had tools of the electrical trade.

Moderate physical activity with occasional lifting of objects weighing over fifty pounds. Requires employment physical exam.

Minimum of three years experience as a State of Texas Licensed Electrical Apprentice. Current State of Texas Electrician's License strongly preferred. Commercial and residential electrical experience preferred.

Thorough knowledge of the tools, materials, methods, and practices of the electrical trade, and safety precautions. Ability to work from penciled sketches and blueprints. Considerable skill in using the standard tools and equipment of the electrical trade. Considerable skill in locating and correcting defects in electrical equipment

Graduation from high school or vocational school.

Must have or be willing to obtain State of Texas Journeyman Electrician's License within 3 years of employment. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code. Operate power tools and hand tools. Climbing ladders, driving all types of vehicles. Reading blue prints, schematics and following directions. Working in high locations and lifting moderate to heavy equipment and materials. *Requires physical exam. * Must be available some nights and weekends. Must periodically serve on a standby or on-call basis.
