Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate level courses in counselor education and contribute actively and effectively to student growth, service, and scholarship.

The West College of Education was successfully reaccredited by TEA in 2018 and CAEP in 2021. The MSU Texas Clinical Mental Health Program earned CACREP accreditation in 2020. The West College of Education is located in Bridwell Hall, a facility remodeled in 2019 . The college offers the Bachelor of Science in Education degree with majors in: Early Childhood {EC 3, EC -6, Early Care, Childhood and Adolescent Studies); Grades 4-8; Sport Coaching, Leadership and Administration; Physical Education; Substance Abuse Counseling; Instructional Design and Technology; Secondary Education; and the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences with multiple concentrations. Students may earn a Master of Education degree with majors in Sports Administration, Special Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or Educational Leadership or a Master of Art degree in Counseling or Human Resource Development. In addition, the college now offers a doctor of education degree in educational leadership. Requirements
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Counseling from a regionally accredited CACREP institution and L.P.C. credentials. The preferred candidate will have an established counselor identity/research agenda, LP.CS. credentials, experience teaching graduate level courses and distance education.

Requires the ability to maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Personal cell phone usage may be required to complete position duties, including multi-function authentication requirements. Regular reliable attendance is required.

This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check. Position is designated as a Responsible Employee as outlined by Title IX. May serve as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act.
