Title
Coordinator, Housing Assignments (Residence Life and Housing)
Description

Responsible for managing housing room assignments, meal plan (board) assignments, and student billing for room and board charges within the university. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills, interpersonal skills, computer-based technical skills, and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous timelines and projects. Serves as the primary administrator of the housing management software for the university. 

Examples

Coordinate university housing assignments in accordance with departmental timelines and procedures. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of housing lease agreements and room assignments, utilizing specialized housing computer software and student information systems for efficient tracking and reporting. Serve as the primary point of contact for housing assignment and billing-related inquiries, providing clear and timely communication to students regarding assignment processes, policies, and procedures. Collaborate closely with various campus departments, including information technology, business office, dining services, card services, postal services, and athletics to ensure seamless coordination of housing and dining room assignment information, meal plan information, billing, and other related functions. Ensure compliance with housing policies and regulations, staying informed of relevant laws and guidelines to uphold legal and ethical standards within the department. 

Physical Condition
Experience

One or more years of experience in professional office operations with related administrative, financial, and communications responsibility. Experience in housing operations management, property management, or a related field is highly desirable. 

Knowledge

High proficiency in database management software and Microsoft Office applications required. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, oral and written communication skills, and analytical finance skills required. 

Education

High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business administration, accounting, information technology, computer science, etc. preferred. 

Additional Requirements

Requires excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be well organized, demonstrate initiative, be able to work independently with little supervision to solve complex problems. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relations with university staff, faculty, students, and outside contacts and be a positive representative for Midwestern State University.
