Title
Campus Visit Specialist, Admissions
Description

The Campus Visit Specialist interacts with internal and external constituents to support the campus visit program contributing to the University's recruitment and retention goals. Oversees the daily campus tours and group tour requests from the community or Independent School Districts and oversees the student tour guides. Assists with the execution of on campus recruitment events. Reports to the Associate Director of Admissions

Examples

Schedules and coordinates daily campus visits for prospective students and their families. Coordinates group tours. Greets and checks in visitors for their campus tours. Coordinates with academic departments or athletics for individual student meetings during campus visit. Maintains the inventory associated with campus tours. Conducts campus presentations to students. Manages the Admissions Office email account by providing customer service in a timely manner. Provides support to the recruitment team and fills in as needed in the Admissions Office. Maintains knowledge and understanding of current admission standards, FERPA, FAFSA, etc. Completes other related duties as assigned.

Physical Condition
Experience

One or more years experience in a college or university environment, preferably in a related area such as student affairs, school relations and/or college admissions counseling.

Knowledge

Requires working knowledge of MSU admission policies and procedures, academic requirements, and residency policies, to include knowledge of admissions procedures for beginning freshmen, transfer students and re-enrolling MSU students. Proficiency in the use of personal computers and knowledge of commonly used computer software programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook.

Education

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in higher education student personnel or related field is preferred and may be substituted for experience.

Additional Requirements

Must have strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to plan and coordinate complex, cross-related tasks. Must be a strong, positive representative of Midwestern State University. Must be able to work evenings and weekends and hours that may exceed the regular workweek. ate University. Must have a team orientation; be adaptable, flexible, and cooperative; have strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to work with all populations.
