- Project Coordinator – Dillard Success Initiative
- Description
Works closely with the professors and academic counselors in overseeing the Dillard Success Initiative. Supervises peer mentors and supplemental instruction tutors. Assists in assessing needs of students served. Reports to the Dean of the Dillard College.
- Examples
Monitors performance of student mentors and supplemental instructors. Provides personal, academic, and career counseling to students in the program. Document participating students' performance and progress. Assists mentors and tutors in developing plans for instruction and tutoring. Promotes and advertises the program and aids in selecting and enrolling eligible students. Extensive record keeping. Perform other duties as assigned.
- Physical Condition
Must be physically able and have the ability to drive a university van.
- Experience
Experience in mentoring students transitioning from high school to college is desired. Requires experience with word processing and database computer programs. Should have knowledge of business and educational systems.
- Knowledge
Must be knowledgeable in the use of personal computers as well as commonly used office software programs such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures, budgeting, recordkeeping, and personnel management. Working knowledge of college admissions and financial aid criteria, desirable. Must have knowledge of or be able to quickly learn requirements of the university's core curriculum. Knowledge of Banner and Navigate software systems preferred.
- Education
Bachelor's degree required.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Must adhere to University’s core values: People-Centered, Community, Integrity, Visionary, and Connections, per the MSU Texas Values Journey. Bilingual in Spanish/English as asset. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to prepare written documentation. Must be able to work a flexible schedule as needed, to include field trips. Must work well with a diverse population of college students. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *Requires a valid Texas driver's license. *This position is designated as security sensitive (mod) and requires a criminal background check. *Gift Funded Position through 2026.
