- Description
The Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs (VPEMSA) serves as the institution’s Chief Enrollment Officer and Chief Student Affairs Officer. The individual is a member of the President’s leadership team and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to design and implement comprehensive enrollment and student affairs programs.
The VPEMSA is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects of university recruitment, including admissions, admissions processing, registration, and financial aid application, processing, awarding, and disbursement. This includes the development and implementation of recruitment and financial aid leveraging strategies. The VPEMSA is additionally responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects of the University’s student affairs program, with a focus on holistic student development, support, and success. The individual provides excellent judgment, diplomacy, and understanding of institution, regional, and national issues to support the President and institution leadership. The VPEMSA serves at the discretion of and has responsibilities and authority delegated by the President.

Leads enrollment planning that is nimble and considerate of market conditions, and meets the strategic goals of the University.
Uses relevant local, state, and national data, and evolving best practices, to identify and recommend strategic initiatives related to enrollment and student affairs to the President.
Stays abreast of and communicates emerging regional, national, and international trends and opportunities.
Collaborates with the Texas Tech University System and other resources to oversee a comprehensive individual and team leadership training and development program.
Leads the University’s Values Council.
Participates with the President and other senior officers in institutional planning, policy development, and problem resolution.
Provides oversight and leadership to Student Affairs units and programs.
Manages budgets in a fiscally responsible manner.

This position requires five years of related professional experience.
Preferred qualifications include the following:
Experience as a Chief Enrollment Officer at an institution of higher education.
Experience as a Chief Student Affairs Officer at an institution of higher education.
Ten years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent speaking and presentation skills.
Understanding of complex data, including the ability to synthesize and communicate in useable formats.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships and networks. Ability to collaborate individually and collectively with a broad set of individuals.
Knowledge of available resources and opportunities to achieve unit and institutional goals and objectives.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrate the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Knowledge of enrollment management functions and practices not limited to enrollment and demographic trends, best practices leveraging financial aid to support enrollment goals, student search, communication strategy, and use of technology.
Knowledge of student affairs functions and practices not limited to student development theory, leadership development theory, academic support functions, holistic student wellbeing, and auxiliary budget management.
Knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, Clery Act, Campus Save Act, Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended), Americans with Disabilities Act (as amended), and other relevant state and federal legislation.
Exhibits professionalism in attitudes and actions, including appearance, attendance, cooperation, timeliness, courtesy, dependability, and attentiveness.
