Title
Director, Processing and Operations, Admissions
Description

Assists the VP of Enrollment Management and Director of Admissions with administrative duties as assigned. Assist with the coordination, scheduling and hosting all special events sponsored by MSU undergraduate and graduate Admissions. Responsible for supervision and training of Admissions Office processing personnel to include Student Assistants. Must have a thorough and specialized knowledge of Midwestern State's policies and programs. Works independently to manage office procedures. Oversees the processing of all undergraduate, graduate and post baccalaureate applications for domestic and international students. Manages the processing staff of 8 employees. Will work closely with graduate coordinators regarding dissemination of application reports. Serves as point of contact and resource for graduate applicants.  Assists with the adaptation and implementation of technology. Make recommendations regarding office policies and procedures to the Director of Admissions. Serves on various university committees as assigned. Coordinates the admissions aspect of the high school concurrent program. Performs specialized tasks involving implementation of on-campus recruitment activities such as prospective student orientation programs, proofing of recruitment publications, counseling students and parents concerning enrollment, extensive travel throughout the state of Texas to high schools and junior/community colleges for recruitment/retention of prospective MSU students. Responsible for the integrity of the Admissions CRM and for the uploading of student names from various vendors at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Reviews CRM functionality to determine best fit for the university. Reviews and makes recommendations regarding CRM technology at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  Other duties as assigned

Examples

 Reports to the VP of Enrollment Management.  Assist with the development of recruiting materials. Assist the formation of recruiting plan/schedule following the TACRAO & Oklahoma recruiting schedules. Make presentations to prospective students, families, and groups. Conduct individual visits/tours. Provide general admissions counseling. Assist colleges/departments with program specific recruiting as needed. Serve as the Apply Texas Application MSU site administrator. Serve as an Admissions liaison between MSU Information Technology. Coordinates the application processing of the high school concurrent enrollment program. Maintain files of statistical/historical data regarding events, activities, and recruiting demographics. Assist with the adaptation and implementation of new technology. Serve on various university committees as needed. Work closely with graduate coordinators regarding graduate applications for admission.

Physical Condition
Experience

Experience and training in a college environment as a senior staff member at the assistant director level or above for five or more years with experience in college admissions, recruiting, and/or school relations required. Should have experience in working with databases, demographics, admissions counseling, and college publications.

Knowledge

Strong communication and oral speaking skills are necessary. Public speaking experience is essential. Ability to plan and coordinate complex, cross-related tasks, make independent decisions, and supervise staff. Must make a strong, positive representation of Midwestern State University. Must be adaptable, flexible, and cooperative. Must have a proficient knowledge of data processing procedures as well as Microsoft Office similar software packages and admissions related mainframe applications. Knowledge of Banner (student information records system) software is desirable. Must have a valid Texas driver's license and the ability to lift a minimum of twenty pounds.

Education

Minimum of a Master's degree required.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse populations, and general office skills are essential. Must be adaptable, flexible, and cooperative. The ability to work as a team member is a must. A willingness to work involving a high degree of interaction with the public and university faculty/administrators is most desirable. * Must be available some nights and weekends. Must periodically serve on a standby or on-call basis. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
