Title
Coordinator, Undergraduate Research
Description

Assists with development and coordination of the Undergraduate Research (UGR) programs for undergraduate students, including providing support for faculty and graduate mentors.

Examples

Collects and synthesizes data pertaining to UGR/NCUR programs and services. Works with the UGR Director and Advisory Committee to make data informed decisions regarding assessment and feedback from UGR programs.  Advertises, selects, and hires student assistants under the direction of the UGR Director.  Coordinates, oversees, and hosts UGR events, such as spring and fall forums, workshops, and other presentation events. Assists with budget, scholarship allocations, stipends, and oversees purchase of research project supplies and services. Maintains UGR website including application forms. Maintains thorough and specialized knowledge of Midwestern State University’s policies and programs. Assists with the adaptation and implementation of technology. Acts as the liaison with all colleges and with Information System and Webmaster staff. Reports to the Director of Undergraduate Research.

Must be proficient in the use of computers and commonly used office software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher and Outlook.

Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Must be a positive representative of Midwestern State University and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others.  *Must observe strictest confidentiality and established security standards. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
