Title
Senior Associate Director of Global Education for Recruiting
Description

Supports the mission of the Office of Global Education by promoting growth, enrollment, and international recruitment activities for the university. Also responsible for a wide range of support services and programs for the benefit of foreign students, including advising, and office administration. Provides supervision and training of additional staff focused on the recruitment and support of international students. Reports to the Director of Global Education.

Examples

Helps facilitate the strategy and manages implementation for recruiting, settling, and retaining both undergraduate and graduate international students. This includes keeping abreast of government programs for advancing and enhancing international programs, meeting the recruitment needs for various campus departments, and compile statistics on graduation rates and achievements of international students. Maintains the prospective international recruitment webpages, promotes the University abroad to various external groups, including junior colleges and government offices. Works on the formulation of agreements with international institutions to enhance recruitment initiatives, and counsels students on academic and personal matters as needed. Supervises and coordinates recruitment activities of additional staff members in that role. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Condition

Must be willing to travel extensively.

Experience

Previous experience in student recruiting, with a strong preference given to those who have international recruiting experience. Prior teaching at and/or academic administration at a four-year college or university preferred. Experience in promotion, marketing, grant-writing preferred.

Knowledge

Should be knowledgeable in immigration law, foreign student recruitment trends and issues, know how to use personal computers and be familiar with multiple software programs including Microsoft Office. Familiarity with grant-writing and/or fundraising. Must be an effective oral communicator and be comfortable talking to large groups of people.

Education

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Must able to acquire necessary visas for entrance to foreign countries. Must be a student-oriented individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; have the ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a wide variety of constituencies; be able to prepare detailed reports with accuracy; have the ability to interpret and explain complex academic requirements to individuals with a limited knowledge of the American system of higher education; and be able to travel extensively. Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. *Regular reliable attendance is required. * Must be available some nights and weekends. Must periodically serve on a standby or on-call basis. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
