Title
Director, Flower Mound Student Learning Center
Description

The Director of the Flower Mound Campus provides leadership to the university's Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) operations. Working collaboratively with campus officials, this position identifies and implements opportunities for the growth of Midwestern State University's DFW programming and student population. Provides oversight to the Flower Mound campus and serves as primary liaison with MSU's North Central Texas College partnership. Responsible for collaborating with officials in the respective DFW communities to identify programs required by the local population. Reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs.

Examples

Coordinates and supervises the selection and training of the Flower Mound campus staff to include the campus administrative assistant, academic program coordinator, and program specialist. Develops partnerships in the Flower Mound and Lewisville communities, including partnerships with local high schools, business and industry, civic organizations, and municipalities. Coordinates and collaborates with appropriate officials to offer campus student and academic services to include admissions, advising, registration, financial aid, tutoring, counseling, disability support, and career management. Identifies and implements support functions as required by the student population. Works collaboratively with the Office of Admissions and the Graduate School to identify and recruit students. Works collaboratively with North Central Texas College to combine services where appropriate, creating operational efficiencies. Provides facility oversight, including custodial and maintenance contracts. Develops partnerships for baccalaureate degree completion with community colleges in DFW. Works collaboratively with University Advancement to identify potential donors. Provides sound fiscal and operational management.

Physical Condition
Experience

Must have a minimum of five years of experience in higher education, including three years at assistant director or higher, preferably in academic affairs, student affairs, or extension campus administration. Previous experience as a faculty member preferred.

Knowledge

Must have knowledge of best practices in adult education and baccalaureate degree completion programs. Must have general working knowledge of federal and state programs and legislation that affect university operations, including but not limited to: Title IV programs, FERPA, Clery, Title IX, VAWA, and ADA.

Education

Master's degree required; earned doctorate preferred.
