Title
Instructional Designer
Description

Provides instructional and program design expertise for the development of effective learning courses and materials across multiple delivery methods. Responsible for managing instructional development process and assisting faculty in the design of curriculum and instruction that lead to student learning and engagement. Develop learning resources and retool courses and course segments to electronic delivery methods. Reports to the Dean, McAda Graduate School.

Examples

Design and supervise production of learning resources in variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and animation technologies to support curriculum offerings. Provide professional and technical support and training to faculty and students. Collaborate with faculty on instructional design issues, provide design assistance in the development of electronic course delivery methods, and assist with online and hybrid course development to ensure effective uses of multimedia optimal design in relation to student learning. Explore new technology advances and make recommendations for multimedia software for use by faculty and others. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Condition
Experience

Requires two or more years' experience in course design, curriculum design, or e-learning, preferably in higher education. Experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software, website design software, and online course management tools.

Knowledge

Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of instructional design and e-learning. Familiarity with multimedia and web design technology.

Education

Requires Master's degree in instructional technology, education, communications, information technology, curriculum design, or related field.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Strong service skills. Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Must be customer service oriented and be able to work in a team environment.
