Title
Assistant Director, Marketing and Brand Management
Description

Conceives, organizes, and designs a variety of communication products for the University to include collaborating with clients to identify design products needed. Distributes and provides quality assurance of MSU graphics and graphics identity, and any designed printed, graphic, or visual work. Also aids with design, graphics, and photo usage, commercial printing, software, and hardware related graphics work. Oversees the day to day operations of the University's licensing program. Other duties as assigned. Reports to the Director of Marketing and Public Information.

Examples

Creates, coordinates, and develops university publications, advertising campaigns, direct-mail campaigns, and special events promotions. Coordinates photography, audio visuals, and Web-based products for marketing purposes. Sets deadlines and priorities for publications in production. Provides cost estimates, monitors budget, and determines supply of need for publications. Maintains the University's branding standards.

Physical Condition
Experience

Five years of relevant creative development experience; 10+ years preferred; extensive ad agency experience; experience and comfort in researching both traditional and non-traditional creative and media platforms.

Knowledge

Strong strategic and creative thinking; disciplined approach to creative development, validation and deployment; effective client management skills; strong background with print production and Web production processes and deliverables; effective time management skills, ability to meet aggressive and changing deadlines; strong attention to detail and accuracy; working knowledge of the following applications/programs or equivalent: Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and Web Content Management Systems.

Education

Associate's or bachelor's degree in commercial art, graphic design, advertising, new media or related field, preferred.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Highly motivated, self-directed and capable of working independently and as part of a functional team. Must be able to solve complex problems and to work independently with little supervision. Personal cell phone usage may be required to complete position duties, including multi-function authentication requirements. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
