- Description
Under general supervision, develops and prepares professional level content for university publications, both in print and digital. Serves as a brand ambassador to provide quality assurance of the MSU Texas graphics and graphics identity. Leads and supports work that helps the university reach its recruiting and development goals and builds advocacy for the university. Reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing & Brand Management.
- Examples
Conceives, organizes, and designs elements for a variety of publications (print and digital) to include collaborating with internal clients to identify design products needed. Includes the creation of flyers, posters, postcards, and brochures. Distributes and provides quality assurance of MSU Texas graphics and graphics identity, and any designed printed, graphic, or visual work. Aids campus departments with design, graphics, photo usage, commercial printing, software and hardware related graphics work. Creates and coordinates advertising with attention to deadlines. Places advertising as directed. Possesses basic knowledge of cameras and photography. Serves a resource to aid departments working with outside/commercial vendors for print publications by helping to determine pricing and prepress procedures. Maintains the content and design elements for the university calendar available on www.msutexas.edu, as well as maintains the webpages for the Office of Marketing & Public Information. Creates and coordinates university-wide messages and content for the TV2 and digital monitors across campus. Writes and edits marketing copy for various areas of campus to be used in various media. Assists the Assistant Director of Marketing & Brand Management with approval of designs and images through the university’s licensing program. Serves as the primary contact for licensing in the absence of the Assistant Director. Attends training, seminars, and other meetings, as needed; performs other duties as assigned.

Experience of more than 3-5 years in a related field. Documented portfolio of design work produced.
- Knowledge
Possesses excellent editing and proofreading skills; Possesses excellent public relations skills; Ability to write professional accurate copy for various purposes, such as internal and external communication, and marketing materials; Knowledge of fundamental marketing techniques; Knowledge of various forms of presentation, including artwork, graphic design, photography, and written content. Ability to express ideas in a clear and structured manner; Ability to understand and meet assigned deadlines; Ability to utilize a personal computer and software such as Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Education
Bachelor’s degree in commercial art, design, advertising, marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Should possess the sensitivity and skill to work with a diverse student and employee population; the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information; excellent judgment and personal maturity; and strong interpersonal skills. Understanding of how to work in a time-sensitive workspace and ability to handle multiple tasks in an extremely busy office.
