Title
Director, Annual and Leadership Giving
Description

Responsible for planning and executing a comprehensive program to generate annual gifts from alumni, faculty/staff, businesses and other constituencies and for soliciting gifts in person from donors at the leadership giving level. Reports directly to the Vice President for University Advancement and Public Affairs.

Examples

Essential Job Duties: Develop and implement a comprehensive year-round annual giving fundraising plan to encourage new and increased annual gifts through direct mail, telemarketing, digital marketing, and personal solicitations. Manage a portfolio of and solicit gifts in person from donors at the leadership annual giving level between $1,000 and $5,000. Manage budget for the annual giving program. Manage relationships with appropriate vendors for annual fund campaigns. Maintain understanding of best practices and implementation of in direct mail and digital solicitation. Analyze data and compile reports on the impact of the annual giving program and make program recommendations to leadership. Engage with constituents at events. Supervise student workers. Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience

Requires experience in fundraising and a track record in meeting goals, preferably at a college or university or with an organization that conducts annual campaigns. Should have a demonstrated record of accomplishment in securing gifts using annual giving strategies. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment preferred. Experience and success in setting timelines and meeting deadlines.

Knowledge


Knowledge of leadership and annual giving techniques. Should possess a thorough knowledge of annual giving practices and of relevant state and federal laws regulating charitable giving. Must also have a good knowledge of standard office practices, personnel management, and budgeting. Proficient in the use of personal computers and standard office software programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of Raiser's Edge software strongly desired.


Education

Bachelor's degree is required, Advanced degree preferred.
