Title
Coordinator, Student Center Services
Description

Assists with the overall operations of the Clark Student Center (CSC). Responsible for issuing MSU Campus Cards as well as granting access privileges and programming schedules for individuals, groups, and buildings. Coordinates installation of new card access locations with appropriate University personnel. Responsible to resolve card or reader issues that may occur. Interacts with banking vendor on current and future enhanced campus card programs. Assists in managing CSC student employees. Assists with campus judicial processes as needed. Reports to the Director of Student Conduct and Clark Student Center.

Examples

Performs tasks related to issuing Campus Cards and recordkeeping for the MSU Campus Card system. Manages the University Campus Card system (CS Gold). Maintains door schedules for buildings with card reader access. Assists with or may be assigned responsibility for activities and presentations during special events such as Spirit Days, Transfer Days, New Student Orientation, Mustangs Rally, Homecoming, Honors Banquet, Stampede Week, Family Day, and Finals Frenzy. Maintains Campus Card equipment, printers, cameras, office copy machines, and other equipment. Supervises CSC student assistants by assigning work priorities, monitoring performance, and creating work schedules. Completes and submits interdepartmental transfers (IDTs), purchase requisitions, direct pay vouchers, student employment forms, and memos and processes other forms and correspondence. Monitors inventory and orders supplies for the MSU Campus Card system. Assists with the EMS facility reservation and event management system. Handles routine, special, and confidential correspondence in a timely and professional manner. Develops special administrative analyses and summary reports. Performs other tasks associated with the operation of the CSC and Office of Student Conduct as assigned by the Director..

Physical Condition

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time, ability to move about the CSC, lift objects weighing over 30 pounds, and perform the functions and requirements of the position.

Experience

Three or more years experience in college student union operations, card management, or related administrative or managerial experience, to include budgeting and personnel management. Experience in student conduct and campus programming, preferred. Experience in scheduling meetings or events, preparation of documents, requisitions, and reports, required.

Knowledge

Requires advanced computer skills and knowledge of generally accepted Microsoft software applications, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook. Requires technical knowledge of or ability to quickly learn new advanced software, hardware, and programs, including CS Gold (Campus Card program) and EMS (reservation and calendar system). Knowledge of general office practices required. Must have the ability to understand, interpret, and communicate pertinent policies and procedures clearly and accurately.

Education

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to keep accurate records and maintain confidentiality. Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and uneven time constraints. Able to multi-task, work independently, and solve complex and technical problems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, subordinates, students, and the general public. Must have the sensitivity and skill to work with a diverse and multicultural student, employee, and community population. Must be able to deliver outstanding, ongoing customer service. *Regular reliable attendance is required. Serves as Campus Security Authority as outlined by the Clery Act. * Must be available some nights and weekends. Must periodically serve on a standby or on-call basis. *This position is designated as security sensitive and requires a criminal background check.
