Title
PC / Network Service Technician
Description

Under the general supervision of the PC/Network Services Manager, complete work orders and assist fellow technicians in completion of daily tasks including system installation, problem determination and resolution, application deployment, and general troubleshooting.

Examples

Responsible for microcomputer hardware and software problem analysis and resolution as well as system evaluation and upgrade. Install and troubleshoot Windows XP, and Mac OS X. Install and troubleshoot MS Office Suites (2003 and 2007), and World Wide Web Browsers. Provide training and instructions to end users on how to use software/hardware products. Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade LAN based networking technology on Enterasys and CISCO networking equipment.

Physical Condition

Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.

Experience

Technical training with a strong background in PC and Mac hardware/software installation and repair. Technical training in and working knowledge of Microsoft and Apple networking. Experience in the installation/maintenance of twisted-pair cabling. Basic knowledge of switches and routers. Basic familiarity with standards based routing and switching.

Knowledge

Knowledge of microcomputer hardware and software installation and repair. Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Services and MacOS.

Education

Bachelor's degree preferred. High school graduation with heavy experience in the specific job areas is acceptable.
