Title
Technology Analyst .
Description

Works closely with functional end users to support implemented applications, development tools, reporting tools, and other third party solutions. Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing and to improve existing computer systems. Responsible for documenting systems and testing programs to assure results. Works as a liaison between the programming staff and the application users. Reports to the Administrative Systems Manager.

Examples

Portal implementation and maintenance. Performs database maintenance, assists with conversion of data, technical support, supporting on-going application development, installation and upgrades of third party software applications. Analyzes problems outlined by management or customers. Works with customers to determine proper flow of information. Assists in preparing detailed analyses, plans, diagrams, reports, and verification procedures for existing and proposed computer applications. Assists in development and testing of automated systems. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Condition

Ability to lift 25 lbs. Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time. 

Experience

Four or more years of technical experience in Information Systems at various levels of sophistication as it pertains to portal support, database and troubleshooting of software applications. Must have prior experience in writing programs, SQL, and reports for functional end users, and exposure to current web development techniques.

Knowledge

Project management, communication, and administrative skills. Strong analytical and problem resolution skills. Technical expertise in application support, development and implementation. Must be skilled in all areas of keyboard use and computer hardware.

Education

Degree from a University or Technical school.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with upper level management on client site. Strong customer service orientation, seeking opportunities to serve customers. Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work effectively and independently while handling periods of high stress. Occasional travel required.
