Title
Associate Director, University Development for Donor Services and Scholarships
Description

Serves as a liaison between the university and its donors. Responsible for building and maintaining relationships and ensuring donor requests or wishes are honored. Reports to the Director of University Development.

Examples

Administers the university's scholarship program (with the exception of athletics), including managing budgeting and extensive record keeping of all financial accounts of university scholarship funds. Oversees all scholarship endowments held by MSU, the MSU Foundation and the MSU Charitable Trust. Provides annual reporting to donors and university leadership on endowed funds and other scholarship funds. Responsible for the establishment of new endowments. Manages donor relations and stewardship efforts, including the scholarship thank you letter writing program. Works with all colleges, departments and service areas regarding donations and scholarship awards. Serves as liaison with enrollment management. Researches donor and gift history information for donors and the campus community. Arranges funding and distribution of special needs scholarships. Maintains donor files. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Physical Condition
Experience

Must have previous budgeting experience. Experience in fundraising, public relations, or other related field involving building donor relationships or contact with the public, is desired.

Knowledge

Should have good knowledge of standard budgeting and accounting practices and be generally familiar with laws related to charitable giving. Requires good computer skills including knowledge of software programs including, but not limited to, Word and Excel. Knowledge of Banner and Raiser's Edge software is preferred.

Education

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.

Requires the ability to work well with diverse populations and maintain positive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the community. Must be able to complete detailed work with a minimum of errors; have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and verbally. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
