Students living in the residence halls who do not select an eligible meal plan at the start of the Fall semester will be assigned the Platinum Unlimited Meal Plan. Students who do not change their meal plan for the Spring semester will be automatically re-enrolled with their current fall meal plan.
The Meal Plan Change period is currently closed for Spring 2024. Students wishing to upgrade their meal plans may do so by contacting us at Housing@MSUTexas.edu. You may also add more flex dollars at any time by visiting the Dine-on-Campus
Fall 2024 Meal Plan Change Period is now open. Log onto the Housing Portal to select or make changes to your current meal plan. All residents have until July 15, 2024, to make changes to their Fall 2024 meal plan.
Students living in the Residence Halls (Killingsworth, Legacy, or McCullough-Trigg) are required to select one of the following meal plans:
- Platinum All Access
- Gold 200
- Silver 150
Please note that the Bronze 75 Plan can only be selected by students living in apartments with access to a private kitchen.
Students living in Sunwatcher and Sundance are NOT required to select a meal plan, but may choose from one of the following if desired:
- Platinum All Access
- Gold 200
- Silver 150
- Bronze 75
The following are the meal plan rates per semester. Students have the ability to make changes before the start of each semester to their meal plans.
Platinum All Access - $2,263
Gold 200 - $2,036
Silver 150 - $1,792
Bronze 75 (apartment residents/commuters only) - $958
All meal plans can be used at any dining location on campus.
The Platinum All-Access plan is considered the "best value" and allows students to enter the Mesquite Dining Hall and Maverick's Corner an unlimited number of times each day unless a meal exchange is utilized.
The Gold 200, Silver 150, and Bronze 75 plans are considered “block” plans. Students have a designated number of meals in their block to use each semester. The Bronze 75 plan is only available to students living in the on-campus apartments or commuter students.
Students may also use their meal plan for one meal exchange per day at participating retail dining locations (i.e. Einstein Brothers Bagels, Chick-fil-A, Legacy Market, etc.) If a student uses their plan at a retail dining location, they will only be able to use flex dollars until the next meal period begins. Students on the All-Access plan must wait until the start of the next meal period to begin using their meal plan in Mesquite or Maverick’s Corner.
All base plans include $100 in flex dollars that can be used at any retail location or the Legacy Market. Additional flex dollars can be added to plans at increments of $100. Students often choose to use flex dollars for grab-and-go items, treating a guest to a meal, or for additional retail options after a meal exchange is used.

All Meal plans can be used at any dining location on campus using either a meal swipe, meal exchange, or flex dollars, depending on the location.
- Mesquite Dining Hall
- A buffet-style dining facility, Mesquite Dining Hall is located in the Clark Student Center. Mesquite offers a wide variety of food options for students. Learn about their operating hours and find out what's on the menu by visiting the Dine On Campus website.
Most retail locations offer meal exchanges. One traditional meal swipe from the dining halls may be substituted for a pre-determined meal at participating retail venues on campus. These are also great locations to use your flex dollars and get snacks and treats in between meals.
- Chick-fil-A (Located in the Clark Student Center)
