Texas Principal Certification
Prepare for school leadership roles with our Texas principal certification program at MSU Texas. Your degree plan will be developed especially for you taking into account your previous coursework.
Our program provides you with opportunities to learn and apply the knowledge, skills, and dispositions set forth in Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC) standards.
You will work in informal cohorts to apply educational leadership knowledge and skills to current school issues, often in actual school settings. Upon completion of our principal certification program, you will be eligible to apply for Texas Principal Certification upon satisfactory completion of the TExES examination and two years of teaching experience.
Requirements for Texas Principal Certification
Completion of an approved master’s degree
Two years of teaching experience
Passing score on the state mandated TExES examination
