Admitted Student Checklist


Once admitted there are some important steps you will need to take to start on the path to completing your bachelor’s degree.

  1. Talk to your advisor, and enroll in classes early.
    1. Get a head start. Be advised early.
    2. Ask questions about your courses, major and career goals.
    3. Confirm with your respective program to ensure that you have completed all steps for acceptance.
    4. Register for classes.
  2. Apply for financial aid and scholarships.
    1. Visit the MSU Texas Financial Aid website for complete overview information, as well as the MSU Financial Aid Checklist.
    2. Visit the MSU Admissions Scholarships webpage and MSU Donor Services for scholarship opportunities.
    3. Contact your academic department for scholarships related to your specific major.
  3. Submit your bacterial meningitis shot record.
    State law requires Texas college students under the age of 22 to receive a vaccination or booster against bacterial meningitis. The vaccine is required for students of public and private colleges, living both on and off campus. This requirement DOES NOT include students who are enrolled only in online courses or other distance education courses which never meet on campus OR students who are 22 years of age or older.
    1. Your vaccine must have been administered within the past five years and at least 10 days before the first official day of classes.
    2. Upon your acceptance to the university, you will receive an email from Magnus Health with login instructions to upload your shot record. Having trouble? Call the Magnus Health Help Desk at 877-461-6831.
  4. Get to know the campus and the services available to you.
    1. As a new student to MSU Texas Flower Mound, you will be required to attend online orientation.

  5. Pay for classes
    The easiest way to pay for classes is through our online payment portal. MSU Texas offers several options to assist you in paying for your classes.
  6. Purchase your textbooks
    As soon as your schedule is finalized, you are ready to order textbooks. The MSU Texas Flower Mound bookstore offers price-match! See store for details and restrictions.
  7. Begin using your official MSU email address and our MSU portal .
    These resources will become your lifeline once you begin attending MSU Texas Flower Mound.
